It’s that time of the year when you can no longer hide your pale body under layers of leggings, sweaters and scarves. Thanks to my Irish roots, I am ALWAYS looking for the perfect self tanner that will give me a subtle glow–since the sun doesn’t feel like giving me one EVER.
Thankfully, Harper’s Bazaar has released a list of some of the best self tanners for the face and body. Below are my two favorites that I will be trying ASAP!

We had so much fun hosting our client’s company picnic earlier this month at Duchman Family Winery and Trattoria Lisina. The food was amazing, the games and activities were a blast and the venue was beautiful!

Señoras y señores…my favorite holiday is upon us. Not only is it a good excuse for a real good happy hour, but its also inspiration for a kickin’ signature cocktail that is guaranteed to knock your guests’ sombreros off! The jalapeño margarita is a zesty crowd pleaser appropriate for any fun-filled fiesta! Accompany it with a fully-loaded queso bar and your guests are sure to indulge.

Its time for my Monday rant on place settings and manners. I get so frustrated when I see an incorrectly set table. So here is a chart to assist. Notice the knife placement and the direction of the blade!!! So many people get this mixed up — stop it!! And the napkin – it goes to the left or can be placed on the plate.
And my biggest pet peeve of all…. the bread plate! This is by far the one thing that so many get wrong when dining. The bread plate is to the left — opposite of your glasses. Here is a little trick to help you remember! Make your fingers into a “b” and a “d”. Put that down at your place setting and you will always remember that the “b” on your left is for your bread. And the “d” on your right is for your drink! Now stop stealing your neighbor’s bread plate and take the plate on the LEFT!!!!

We, along with many of our clients, want to spread support for Austin’s non-profit Emancipet, and its goal to reduce the homeless pet population in Austin. Emancipet provides low-cost spay/neuter services to help decrease the number of unwanted pets.

As my friends and family know, I am a jewelry addict. The first step is admitting you have a problem, right?
Well since I would rather throw on a t-shirt and jeans and accessorize lavishly, I am always going through jewelry phases in order to give my “wardrobe” variety. My new phase and obsession is knuckle rings. Stack them up or keep it simple, either way your fingers will look fabulous.
For the soon-to-be brides, an infinity or “tying the knot” knuckle ring could be a delicate accessory for the big day!

You don’t have to know me for years to know that I love anything with a touch of sparkle! Anytime I open a LaTavola swatchbook, I’m immediately drawn to the New York linens. I’ve made the “one glitter nail” trend a bi-monthly ritual. If it were up to me, I’d sprinkle edible glitter over every meal. It’s quite an unhealthy obsession, but I’m not breaking up with glittered goodness anytime soon! CC agrees that bling can go a long way when incorporated into your bash! Now, this blog is dedicated solely to pretty paillettes! I love them on linens, walls, accessories, dresses…basically EVERYTHING.
Too much? I’d dare to say that gaudy is the new black…you might agree after you see these paillettes used in so many different and fab ways.
