INTERN INTRO :: AMY
My name is Amy Legamaro, born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, and a 2012-Summer graduate at Texas A&M University. I studied Recreation, Parks and Tourism Sciences, with an emphasis in Tourism Management, with the hopes of one day becoming a self-employed event coordinator. Caplan Miller Events is the ideal internship for me to be working with mainly because it is an establishment similar to what I would like to create in the future. The women that I am currently working for at Caplan Miller are so successful in the event industry and I look up to what they have accomplished thus far. Their events are done with professionalism, elegance, and tons of glamour! I am excited to learn the ins and outs of the industry, and I can think of no better way to learn them than from gaining experience with Caplan Miller Events.
The event I am most excited to work is the Seton Hospital Grand Opening Event. This community day event will not only be my first event to work as a Caplan Miller intern, but is also the event I can best relate myself and my previous field studies to. As a Recreation and Parks major, I have studied the importance of community development and involvement, and realize what the hospital opening will do for these communities. This all day event will bring together the surrounding communities of Harker Heights, Belton, and Killeen for a fun filled day. Sponsored by Vitamin Water and CLIF Bar, this event will have activities for children of all ages including a balloon artist, temporary tattoo artist, cotton candy machines, stilt walkers, unicyclist, inflatables and carnival games. It will bring many different friends and families together for an enjoyable day and I am excited to apply what I have learned in school, through my work as a Caplan Miller intern.
