It is officially summer here in the ATX and that means our weather temperatures are in the low to mid 100’s. I encourage all you brides-to-be out there to plan indoor ceremony and receptions from June-September, I know that isn’t always possible. I wanted to share with you some flowers that can take the heat and hopefully be able to withstand all festivities outdoors without breaking a sweat. Mostly a lot of the tropical flowers tend to be the hardieset outdoor flower. If you don’t love calla lilies, I’d start trying to for your outdoor August reception. PS. Don’t call me for that one.

I am so sad this special day is over : ( It was amazing and gorgeous and such a blast! I had such a relaxing day as a bridesmaid while Sarah and the CME team did their thing transforming the Four Seasons ballroom and lawn into the most beautiful wedding ever. I had so much fun working with Sarah on my best friends wedding and can’t think of any way things could have turned out more perfect! I love you Carolyn and Val Cantu!!!

I. LOVE. BLUE. AND. WHITE.

Blame it on my grandmother, but this color combination has long been my favorite, and I want to put it everywhere. There is nothing more beautiful than a perfectly executed blue and white event, but this classic look can be surprisingly hard to do.

My tips for using blue and white correctly:

1. Keep it simple – classic patterns and clean lines
2. Stick with one shade of blue
3. Remember less is more; know when to edit

Now that Allison has told you how to ask them to be your bridesmaid we want to make sure you show them love for being such a big part of your big day. Don’t be the bride that gives the same ole boring bridal party gifts as everyone else. You love your bridesmaids, so let them know in a fun and unique way! Get inventive and give your bridal party the most original gifts you can come up with to show how much you appreciate your ladies!

The groomsmen don’t deserve drab gifts either. Spice up the creativity and leave your wedding party with something that will always remind them of your special weekend.

Bold and bright earrings are always an easy way to liven up any simple outfit. When shopping for the right statement earrings, look for some with either a burst of color or lots of sparkle. So that you don’t overdo the look, they are best paired with a simple bun or any style that makes your face the focal point. Statement earrings can be done for an everyday outfit, a cute evening out, or the perfect elegant bridal look.

Since our hydrangea table runner from the Arthouse Donor Dinner has gone totally viral I have been amazed with all the attempts to duplicate this masterpiece. People…there is a simple first step that needs to be taken in order to achieve this look…David Kurio Designs.

Hydrangea are the meca of flowers…you can add them to any arrangement to give it volume or let it stand alone as the beauty it is. After seeing all the bagillions of places our photo has wound up I got a little hydrangea crazy…in a good way!

There is nothing better than a little twinkle and sparkle added to an evening of fun! I have come to love twinkle lights and the ever popular C9’s hanging from trees during a daytime or nighttime event. Adding a little bit of glow to your soiree would definitely be the cherry on top of a great event!

Along with hanging lights, there are also fun ways to spice up a table arrangement with an assortment of candles and light bulbs!
