DECEMBER TO REMEMBER :: FROM BRIDE TO BLOGGER

Hello CME readers!

I’m Allison, a former CME bride and a current CME (wanna-be) groupie. These fabulous ladies planned my wedding, and in the process, I became slightly obsessed with them. And by slightly obsessed, I mean I wanted to move from Chicago to Austin to hang out with them all the time and talk about weddings, food, and nail polish colors. Seriously. So, obviously, after months and months of post-wedding CME-withdrawals, I was super thrilled to be asked to be a guest blogger on the CME blog!

I thought we should get started with a little peak into our wedding! We got married last March at The McNay Art Museum in my hometown, San Antonio, on the most beautiful Spring evening. The night felt truly magical and was full of gorgeous design elements, delicious food, and super fun people. Two of my very favorite details were the romantic flowers and the South Texas touches like the all-female mariachi band and passed breakfast tacos!

It was all amazing and if it weren’t for Courtney and the other talented CME ladies, we probably would have ended up eloping in Mexico or Hawaii or some other remote island, so thanks ladies. Want to do it all over again for our first anniversary? We have three months – let’s go! Kidding (kind of).

xo,
Allison

This is it for me and my December to Remember events…so what better way than to end with the first event of 2011. I absolutely love this wedding, from the chuppah to the ballroom, everything was exquisite. The deep purple draping was perfection and the lighting-so romantic…AAAH I just love it!

DECEMBER TO REMEMBER :: AUSTIN FASHION WEEK

Austin Fashion Week took place in August and was one of the most rewarding, challenging, time consuming, memorable and awesome experiences I have had since opening CME. I learned so much and had the best time collaborating with my girl Erika of ESConsulting. And I must give a special shout out to Dani who was my constant side-kick and partner…couldn’t have survived without you :)

The week-long event began with a Kick Off Event at the Harley-Davidson dealership in Austin… check out our black leather studded runway:

Austin Fashion Week moved to The Driskill for 5 nights of Jewelry, Apparel and Accessories showcases along with 15 runway presentations. Below are a few of my favorites of the week from Boudoir Queen, League of Rebels and Jamie McCarty. Hair and makeup pictured below by Rae Cosmetics and The Salon at the Domain. I loved our clean white runway with mirror facade set against the Driskill’s beautiful marble floors.

The week ended with the Austin Fashion Awards at ACL Live with runway shows by Gail Chovan, 81 Poppies, Rory Beca, Wren and Linda Asaf. Hair and make up by Jackson Ruiz. The night opened with Austin’s coolest dance crew ReDefined and ended with the most amazing pop violinist (who we found on YouTube!) – Josh Vietti. Everything about this night was incredible from the black patent vinyl runway to the light wall backdrop. And I need to give a quick thanks to C & N from FILO for teaching me the correct lingo to direct a show (standby…).

There are way too many people to thank for their help with AFW (I think we managed over 100 zillion different vendors and sponsors) but I can’t end this blog without a huge thank you in particular to FILO Productions, Strong Events and Premiere Party Central. You each went above and beyond and made the week so polished and professional and elevated AFW to a level we were so very proud of. The event is still young and growing and we are proud to be involved in its evolution — we can’t wait to continue to work with Matt Swinney and his crew in 2012.

DECEMBER TO REMEMBER :: PEPPERMINT POOL PARTY

One of my favorite holiday events this year was The Four Seasons Hotel client appreciation party. We had such a great time with our peppy theme! We mixed in minty green to accent the red and white color pallette. The Mistoletoe Mojitos and Peppermint Mochas were a huge hit, not to mention the amazing decor provided by Townsely Designs and Unexpected Elements. Starlight Fireworks provided the beautiful snow and FILO Designs supplied all the glowing lighting and holiday movies “playing” in the pool! Special thank you to Annie Ray for the fantastic images, Rainmaker Talent for the entertainment, and to the amazing Four Seasons Hotel Austin for allowing us to be a part of your annual event, it was a fabuous party!

Cheers!

DECEMBER TO REMEMBER :: FUSCIA AT THE FOUR SEASONS

Tawney and Russell were married in September at the Four Seasons here in Austin in a beautiful outdoor ceremony. The bride and groom grew up as childhood friends in Midland, and almost the entire city made the trip to Austin to celebrate their wedding. What a fun night filled with family and friends! Congratulations Tawney and Russell! We miss you Steve!

DECEMBER TO REMEMBER :: VINEYARD ROMANCE

Brian proposed to Maile in her family’s vineyard, so it was only perfect for them to exchange vows in that very spot one year later. This was the most amazing clear tent that allowed the guests to enjoy a stunning Texas sunset! Thank you to Marquee Tents for making this dream a reality. Congrats to the beautiful couple on their beautiful wedding!

Thank you to Jerry Hayes Photography, Townsley Designs, The Salt Lick, FILO, Coco Paloma Desserts, and David Kurio Designs.
Cheers!

DECEMBER TO REMEMBER :: CABERET-STYLE WEDDING

{{sigh}}
what. a. wedding.
so unique. so much love. shelley (MOB)…i know you are probably reading this and I wish we could go back and re-live this night all over again!

a cabaret style wedding at the four seasons hotel. guests were ushered to their dinner tables upon arrival. at their seat was a program + menu card combination. they were served champagne while watching the wedding take place from their seats. the suspended chuppah contained a family tree overhead which remained a focal point in the room over the dancefloor for the entire night. After the recessional, we quickly removed the screens which disguised our band and the reception began! Servers processed into the room with the first course which was served to the tables. After this course, the guests were hit with the largest menu I have ever seen. Check out our gorgeous calligraphed menu signs for each themed food station. We also paired each food station with a specialty cocktail. Too. Much. Fun.

..and lucky me… I get to do it all over again in March for the sister’s wedding! Can’t wait to show you what we have come up for hers!!
