Fourth of July is the perfect time to celebrate summer with your family and friends. It’s a weekend full of sun, hot dogs, watermelon, and fireworks… what could be better?
Whether you’re headed out to the lake or spending the day in the backyard, here are some cute ideas that will liven up your family celebration or your huge Fourth of July bash.

Fourth of July Sangria
Use white or rosé wine for this as you will not be able to see the stars in red wine.
1 bottle wine
2 shots brandy or cognac
2 cups ginger ale
1 cup strawberries
2/3 cup blueberries
2/3 cup fruit stars (from one star fruit or cut from a melon)
Agave nectar to taste (about 3 tablespoons)
Combine all ingredients. When serving be sure to include some of the fruit.
Makes just under 2 quarts including fruit.
Red, White, and Blue Chocolate-Dipped Pretzel Rods
1. Use white chocolate Candy Melts for this as white chocolate can easily seize up. Purchase Candy Melts from a baking shop or similar section in a craft store. Melt white chocolate in a small bowl in the microwave. Melt chocolate in 10-second increments and stir until smooth. (Tip: be sure to use a warm spoon or the chocolate may seize up and harden.)
2. Dip end of pretzel rods in the melted white chocolate and then sprinkle red, white, and blue edible sprinkles on the chocolate.
3. Allow chocolate to set by keeping pretzels upright
The tiniest details can make your Fourth of July celebration extra special. Try using red, white, and blue bandannas as napkins or American flags as tablecloths. These inexpensive touches are sure to wow your guests!
Be red, white, and beautiful,
