SUGAR PLUM PARTY

Im going to use the blog today to brag about my oh-so-fab planner/colleague/friend, Elizabeth Elias, and show off an incredible holiday party that she produced for Dimensional Fund this past December. We are gearing up for Dimensional Fund’s 30th Anniversary Party this Thursday and I realized that Elizabeth had not yet posted images from this amazing party. So Elizabeth… I’m doing it for you! Great job on this event, EE! I can’t wait to see all of your hard work and creativity come to life for Dimensional Fund once again this week!
***
In December we went with a “Sugar Plum” purple inspired color palette for this holiday soiree. The event took place at the Dimensional Fund office, where we transformed each space with good food (and tons of it!), photo booth, dancers, DJ, chic decor, ice bars and lighting….

Awesome job Elizabeth – thank you for all you do for CME!

CC

HAPPY EASTER

Break out all of your pastel clothing…Easter has arrived! Spring is in full bloom and there’s nothing like Easter with your family and friends. If you’re anything like me you have been planning your menu for weeks and setting your dining table all week in preparation for this colorful holiday. For those of you that don’t enjoy the domestic side of the holidays, there are so many festive options for brunch on Sunday. A few of my favorites:

The Driskill
Green Pastures
Paggi House
The Four Seasons
Barton Creek Resort
III Forks
Fonda San Miguel
Shoreline Grill

Cheers!
Elizabeth

A SMALL TEXAN IN THE BIG APPLE

I went to the Big Apple last week and came back an obsessed Yankee. Spending half the trip with my family and half with one of my best friends, I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. I got to see and do it all. While I could write for days about everything I love, I will leave you with a few of my faves. Which just means, you must take a trip and go exploring on your own!

Beauty and Essex – Literally one of my favorite places I’ve ever been. With the remarkable food and exceptional ambiance, this is definitely one of New York’s trendiest hot spots. Even if you aren’t hungry for a huge meal, this is perfect for a few (or a lot!) cocktails and great people watching. And it obviously helps that I saw Kim Kardashian dining in. Must give credit to my dad for spotting her beau, Kris Humphries, and going up to talk to her with me. She told him happy birthday and looked even more fabulous in person. Can you imagine how much I was freaking out?? #highlightofmytrip.

Central Park – Right smack in the middle of the city, this in an obvious NYC must. Whether you are a local New Yorker or a visiting tourist; this is the place to be. Everything about it is so peaceful and beautiful, and it’s great exercise, too! And I’m loving the pink trees – do you think they could FedEx me one? Not trying to be creepy, but definitely take a close look at people in hats pushing strollers. #acelebfavorite

Yankees Game – We rode the subway (yes…I rode it!!) to get to the new stadium, which is amazing. I got to see the Yanks play the Texas Rangers, which was super fun for me. I was rooting for both teams, but what I was rooting most for was the garlic french-fries. I mean, they were absolutely incredible and I wish I had some at this very moment. 40 degrees and raining, we sucked it up, bought beanies, and froze our little butts of while watching the Yankees take the win.
Other things to nosh on: hot dogs, Philly cheese steak sandwich, Chicken Fingers, nachos, peanuts, ice cream, cotton candy. Really though, what don’t they have? And if you’re on a diet – no worries – every item has the calories next to it so you can pick and choose wisely. #doesitreallymatter?

Visit the Bs – Obviously, we all know that the shopping in this city is incredible. If you have a shopping problem like me, this will be the best thing that has ever happened to you. Bergdorfs, Bloomies, Barneys, Bendels… need I say more? #shopoholicandproudofit

Can’t wait to go back. Who’s with me?!! Until next time…

You know you love me!

AG

A PIECE OF CAKE

Everyone knows that I am obsessed with the royal wedding, and everything leading up to it. With T minus ten days until the big event I thought that I would prepare you for what is my favorite part of any wedding…THE CAKE! Just like everything else involved in the royal affair, no ordinary cake will do. This has to be a cake fit for royalty, and more importantly for their celebrity friends like Victoria and David Beckham. While I can only speculate what William and Kate’s cake will look like on the big day, I thought I would take you on a trip down memory lane, and take a look back at royal wedding cakes through the years.

Prince Abdullah of Jordan

Prince Edward

Queen Elizabeth

Princess Victoria of Sweden

Princess Grace of Monaco

Prince Pavlos of Greece

Prince Andrew

The Queen Mum

And of course… Princess Diana’s

So until next time…
God Save the Queen!

KW

HAPPY PASSOVER!

Today is the beginning of Passover, a Jewish holiday that commemorates when the slaves were freed from Egypt. To kick this off, we have a Seder which involves retelling the story of Passover, being surrounded by family, and drinking some good old Manischewitz. Below is a Seder guide with some of my faves:

Seder Plate

Matzo

Charoset

Matzo Ball Soup

Manischewitz

For those of you celebrating, enjoy your matzo pizza for the next week! For those of you who aren’t, you might wanna try it. One peice of matzo, pizza sauce, sprinkled cheese, microwaved or cold, and viola…YUMS!

Happy P!

C
