Our December to Remember is coming to an end! Today is CME’s last day in the office for 2010. We are off for a much-needed 2 weeks rest so we can come back strong in 2011, rejuvenated for many more awesome events to come!
We were fortunate to work with Jennifer’s family back in 2007 when we planned her sister’s wedding. We loved working with them once again to plan a modern black and white soiree! Mix that with the Four Seasons delectable cuisine (check out the truffle mac n cheese below) — and you have yourself one fun par-tay!

Cheers!

Im not sure a wedding gets more gorgeous than this! Jaime and Brett have so much love between them and it’s hard not to see that from these incredible pics from Diana M Lott Photography. This wedding took place at Vista West Ranch over Labor Day Weekend this September and was definitely a CME favorite from 2010. Take a look…

For Melissa and Jason’s wedding at Laguna Gloria we chose the theme Marfa meets Manhattan. The couple are both New Yorkers that have moved to trendy Marfa, Texas so this theme was only fitting! For the bar, we set up a vintage airstream and served fresh lime margaritas and martinis. To fight off the cold we set out pashminas and cream colored blankets for the guests.

Thanks to Kate Mefford Photography for these beautiful images!
This was truly a night to remember!

I could not let this December to Remember go by without showing you Kim and Will’s big day at the Hyatt Lost Pines Resort and Spa. This traditional black and white wedding was clean and classic. Be sure to check it out in the current issue of The Knot Texas and here on their website!

This one gets a big WOW from me!

Whoa! This was one serious par-tay.
Jake is one of the coolest kids I know. And in a non-pedophile way… he’s a total HOTTIE! Dont worry… I’ve told him mother that I feel this way. Come on, he is only 13.
Jake is an incredible tennis player, but he didn’t want his bar mitzvah to be all about tennis. We created 8′ tall letters spelling his name out of tennis balls at the entrance to the event. To kick off the night, the teens hung out in “Jake’s Arcade” while the adults enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in a chic copper & white lounge.
We turned our main ballroom into Jake’s night club for dinner and dancing. Our room was split in half by a custom built “bubble” bar and spandex “tree of life”. One side of our room had a dancefloor and DJ booth. And the other side had another dancefloor and 80’s cover band. The corners of our ballroom had white high-back banquette seating for all of the VIPs. FAB!

I absolutely LOVE this event because it’s so elegant yet effortless. There’s nothing better than a gorgeous backyard affair especially when you have great weather on your side. In September we produced Scott & White Hospital’s Campaign Kick-off Event for their Children’s Hospital. You will notice stars keep popping up everywhere….we had a subtle star theme and incorporated them in our specialty cocktail, live auction wands, lighting and even the desserts. The custom desserts were created to represent items that provide comfort to a child while being treated in the hospital. They were adorable!
A few shout outs to our decor team in creating this lovely soiree:

One of the most memorable events for me this year, was Jackie and Nick’s wedding in April. Their outdoor ceremony at the Wildflower Center had to be brought indoors at the last moment because of bad weather, and tents were set up for their reception. You would have never known that anything had changed at all by the way the entire wedding party handled everything so perfectly! In the end this was a truly beautiful and magical night for a wonderful couple!

Last month Caplan Miller Events was once again thrilled to be a part of A Glimmer of Hope’s annual fundraiser, let there be hope 2010. I could tell you about what a WOW worthy event it was, but I have decided to let the numbers speak for themselves:
- 300- the number of generous hearts present to help give HOPE to Robit Ethiopia
- 52 – the number of hand dug water wells that were financed for the community of Robit
- 1 – fully equipped medical center that will be built in the community
- 25,000 – the number of people who will now have access to medical care
- 5- the number of school buildings that will be built for the children of Robit
- $162,000 - the amount of money available for micro-finance loans that will allow men and women to lift themselves out of extreme poverty
- $1,081,758 - the total amount raised for the community of Robit Ethiopia as a result of let there be hope 2010

There is only one thing left to say…WOW!
Until next time!
