DECEMBER TO REMEMBER: LIZ + TOM

Hello all!
Allow me to introduce myself! I am the newest member of the CME team, Katherine, but on this blog they call me the WOW Gal! I am here to bring you everything we at CME are saying WOW about!

For my first blog post I am bringing you a treat: Liz and Tom’s gourmet affair at the Four Seasons here in Austin. I wasn’t around for this one, but looking back it has become one of my favorites! Definitely WOW worthy! It’s sophisticated and elegant with a unique feel – specifically because of the amazing lamp shades that were hung over the tables. The groom is the Managing Partner of Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group. The lamp shades were the perfect touch to make this room feel a bit like guests were lounging at a chic restaurant. The Four Seasons pulled out all the stops because this wedding was definitely all. about. food. Check out the last pic for a peek of Wolfgang himself shakin’ it on the dancefloor!

What did I tell you…
WOW, right?!

Until next time!

Danke Schoen, Darlin’ Danke Schoen

This is the time of year when I begin to sit and reflect and think of all the things in my life I am thankful for.  I am truly grateful to have such a long list, and I feel I must take the time to thank our hard working and talented team of vendors who have collaborated with us this year to create some of the most beautiful and memorable events ever!  We owe so much of our success to them.  So, to each of you out there, a great big thank you.  We look forward to many more spectacular events with you!

How to Wear Red for the Holidays

This is the time of year when red reins! You know the holidays are upon us when this color starts sneaking it’s way into every home decor and clothing store. Usually not the one to succumb to seasonal trends, but I have cheerfully decided to embrace the holiday spirit by splashing this bold color into my life! A little pop here and a little pop there…this color goes a long way. Not one to drench myself in a blanket of red, I have found a couple items that shows just how beautiful and powerful this color can be. And with so many shades to chose from, I’m already starting to feel a little flush with all my fabulous finds…

Images: Christian Louboutin, Essie Nail Polish, Gap Shirt, Laura Mercier Lip Colour, J. Crew Beret, Stephen Webster Ring

Cherry, berry, auburn, burgundy, crimson, fire engine red, flame, lava, lust, magenta, ruby, scarlet, vermilion.

Show it on your sole, polish your piggies, dress your best, paint your pucker, hang on your head or place perfectly on your finger.

Here’s to a red hot holiday!

give me MO

Have you noticed a bunch of hairy men walking around town? All these bushy beards and manly mustaches keep popping up everywhere I look. What’s up with all of this hair??? Most men will perk up announcing MOVEMBER. Que? Did you mean November? No, MOOOvember! Then they proudly tell you that November is cancer awareness month for men and they are supporting the cause. The rules are simple, start Movember 1st clean-shaven and then grow a mustache for the entire month. The mustache becomes the medal for men’s health—the means by which awareness and funds are raised for cancers that affect men. Much like the Koman for the Cure for women, but instead of a walk/run the men of Movember commit to growing a mustache for 30 days. I love it!

Mustaches are HILARIOUS to me! I don’t know why but they make me laugh like crazy. A few of my favorites that know how to rock their MO!

The end of Movember is marked across the US & around the world with a series of Gala Partés to thank the Mo Bros and Sistas for their outstanding fundraising efforts. I hear the partés are quite awesome and they give you a chance to dress up in your best Movember costume, showcase your immaculate grooming, celebrate your finest MO and compete for a number of category titles—Best MO in Character, Miss Movember and Man of Movember 2010. This awesome event is coming to Austin on 12/2 at 8pm at Highball. Click here to get your tickets.

I’ve had a few mustaches appear at my events and you should too! They are super fun to have available at your photo booth. Nothing like a mustache to spice up your event!

I would love to sign off sharing one of my favorite mustache photos-Enjoy!

Cheers!
Elizabeth

FANTASY FOOTBALL

Thanksgiving isn’t just about turkey and stuffing… it’s about football! No matter if you are into sports or not, football is one of the world’s most popular sports and is watched by millions. Some families gather around the flat screen to watch their favorite teams compete, while others take it outside for a fun, family scrimmage. Ladies…I am here to make sure you are prepared for what’s to come. Whether you are just sitting in front of the TV watching some plays or you are out there throwing around the old pigskin, it’s time to listen up. I mean, don’t you want to know what the heck your guy is so obsessed about when his eyes are glued to the TV and his fantasy football team at the same exact time? And why he’s not paying attention to you, instead??? Fantasy Football isn’t just a game — it’s a man’s shopping spree. Because I am so in love with y’all, I would like to provide the knowledge you need to get through this time. If you know these terms – I promise, you are in. So if you want to impress your family and especially your man, start memorizing.

A Woman’s Football Glossary
1. Kickoff – a free kick that puts the ball into play at start of the first and third quarter and after a team scores
2. Run – a play in which a player attempts to carry the ball through or past the opposing team
3. Reception – part of a play in which a forward pass from behind the line of scrimmage is received by a player in bounds
4. Holding – a penalty where a player on offense or defense illegally blocks a player on the other team
5. Punt – a play in which a player drops the ball and kicks it before it touches the ground
6. Interception – the act of catching a football by a player on the opposing team
7. Fumble – when the ball is forced out of the possession of the player in control – typically resulting in a turnover
8. Field Goal – a score made by kicking the ball between the opponent’s goal posts
9. Touchdown – being in possession of the ball across the opponents’ goal line
10. Extra Point – a point awarded for a successful place kick following a touchdown

Well don’t just sit there and stare – do your homework! Go get geared up in your black leather leggings, paint those cute little lines on your face, and put your perfectly manicured fingers on those laces… it’s game day baby. Come on boys, isn’t this your REAL idea of fantasy football?! Until next time..

You know you love me!

P.S. Come on Longhorns… Just come on. Enough said!

Molasses Cookies

It would just not be Thanksgiving at our house without a plate of molasses cookies to nibble on. Affectionately referred to as “syrup cookies” these sweet, soft and chewy cookies have a spicy bite that is simply irresistible. I am fortunate enough to have my grandmother’s recipe, however as many times as I have made them, they will never be as good as my Nana’s. I am pleased to share this wonderful old recipe with you!

Enjoy and Happy Thanksgiving!
Sarah

*Roll each cookie into a ball and roll into granulated sugar
*Gently pat down each ball onto an un-greased cookie sheet
*Bake at 350 degrees
