The Pies of Texas Are Upon You!
It is officially my favorite time of year! Time to break out those new fall boots, pick out a few perfect pumpkins and go antique shopping in Round Top! This year I will only be there in spirit, so I thought I would take a moment to reflect on my most favorite part of the Fall Antique Festival in Round Top, Texas; PIES! If you have never been to Round Top, I suggest you get over there and fast! Your first and most important stop is Royer’s Round Top Cafe. You can’t miss it, and with a population of 77 people, ask anyone for directions, and they’ll point you in the right direction. Royer’s if my favorite restaurant for many reasons, but my most favorite thing on the menu is the Bud’s Butterscotch Chip Pie. Trust me on this one. I have taken it to many dinner parties, and I am always invited back. It is amazing served warm with homemade vanilla Blue Bell Ice Cream. And not to worry, even if you can’t make it over to Round Top this week for a little slice of heaven, just give them a call and they’ll ship one to you. Or better yet, sign up for their 12 Month Pie Club and they’ll ship you a pie each month! It doesn’t get much better than that!
